Conquering Learning Challenges through Speech & Motion
WHAT IS SPEECH & MOTION?
Speech & Motion benefits children (K-12) and adult who struggle with learning, sensory integration, nutrition, and language processing. It's founder, Dr. JoQueta Handy, has spent many years working closely with children, teachers, and parents to identify and research the specific needs and programs to help children who struggle in the classroom.
In her early years of practice, as a Speech Pathologist, JoQueta was displeased by the lack of carry over from individual treatment sessions with children who suffered from language processing disorders to the classroom. Based on her research and experience, JoQueta founded Speech & Motion around principals of brain development and perfecting learning strategies that can easily be implemented in the classroom.
The strategies are successful for children who are functioning at the most severe level of learning disabilities to the child who is in a regular educational classroom in a private school with minimal difficulties.
To develop strong, independent competent learners, Speech & Motion uses a unique approach in treating each child individually. We focus on the whole child in terms of what influences their learning, behaviors, frustration, attention, motor movements, and speech language output.
